World Refugee Day
Designated by the United Nations, World Refugee Day honors the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. This is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.

เมื่อวันที่ 20 มิถุนายน Bangkok 1899 ได้เฉลิมฉลองวันผู้ลี้ภัยสากลและความแน่นแฟ้นที่มั่นคงของผู้ลี้ภัยในกรุงเทพมหานคร
วันผู้ลี้ภัยสากลกำหนดโดยองค์การสหประชาชาติ เพื่อเป็นเกียรติให้กับความแข็งแกร่งและความกล้าหาญของผู้คนที่ถูกบังคับให้ต้องออกจากบ้านเกิด เพื่อหนีความขัดแย้งหรือความรุนแรง นี่เป็นโอกาสที่จะสร้างความเห็นอกเห็
2022
On 25th June 2022, we hosted important panel discussions and workshops on refugee rights at Bangkok 1899, in collaboration with Na Projects Group, SATI Foundation & Asylum Access Global.
This year, these activities were held alongside the refugee food court prepared by refugee families from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine and Vietnam, as well as dance performances and arts activities by different refugee communities.
After a year of hiatus due to COVID-19, the event was an opportunity to build solidarity among the refugee communities, but also between the refugee communities and the local Thai community.
2020
In 2020, we organised an International Food Court on our premises in collaboration with Na Projects Group, SATI Foundation & Asylum Access Global.
During the event, refugee families from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia and Vietnam whipped up their local dishes for everyone to indulge in. These included samosas from Somalia, chicken beef kebabs and kabuli pulaw from Afghanistan!
Alongside our international food court, henna and embroidery groups with Asylum Access Thailand came down to share their stories and cultures through their art.
Amidst uncertain times, a day of empathy, understanding and community served as a much needed reprieve from the stresses of the pandemic.
ในปี 2020 เราได้จัดศูนย์อาหารนานาชาติ ร่วมกับ Na Projects Group SATI Foundation และ Asylum Access Global
ตลอดทั้งงาน มีครอบครัวผู้ลี้ภัยจากอัฟกานิสถาน ปากีสถาน โซมาเลีย และเวียดนาม ทำอาหารท้องถิ่นของแต่ล่ะประเทศให้ได้ลองชิม มีทั้ง Samosas จากโซมาเลีย เคบับเนื้อและไก่ รวมถึง Kabuli Pulaw จากอัฟกานิสถาน
นอกจากศูนย์อาหารนานาชาติแล้ว ยังมีซุ้มเพ้นท์เฮนน่าและงานเย็บปักทักร้อยจาก Asylum Access Thailand มาร่วมแบ่งปันเรื่องราวและวัฒนธรรมผ่านงานศิลปะ
ในช่วงเวลาที่ไม่แน่นอนนี้ เราต้องการความเห็นอกเห็นใจ ความเข้าใจจากชุมชน ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นที่สุดในการช่วยบรรเทาความเครียดจากของการระบาดครั้งใหญ่ที่เป็นอยู่ในปี 2020 เราได้จัดศูนย์อาหารนานาชาติ ร่วมกับ Na Projects Group SATI Foundation และ Asylum Access Global

2019
In 2019, Bangkok 1899 collaborated with Tiffany Singh, Na Projects Group, Amnesty Thailand, Asylum Access International & Host International to organise the Make A House A Home project. The event connected people to the well-being of refugees in Bangkok through colorful artworks made by young refugee kids.
Our then artist-in-residence, Tiffany Singh, participated in the event through the exhibition of her personal Make A House A Home Projects; a social practice art project to help raise awareness and gather items for people in need through art. This project allows interested individuals to bring items that can be useful to the refugee families and exchange them with an artwork made by young refugee children. Workshops were also organised by refugee families from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and Myanmar for people to learn and connect with them through food, art and culture.

เมื่อปี 2019 Bangkok 1899 ร่วมกับ Tiffany Singh, Na Projects Group, Amnesty Thailand, Asylum Access Global & Host International ได้จัดแสดงงาน Make A House A Home ที่เชื่อมโยงผู้คนให้เล็งเห็นถึงสภาพความเป็นอยู่ของผู้ลี้ภัยในกรุงเทพมหานครฯ ผ่านงานศิลปะสีสันสดใสที่จัดทำขึ้นโดยเด็กๆ ผู้ลี้ภัย
ศิลปินในพำนักของเรา Tiffany Singh ได้มีส่วนร่วมกับงานครั้งนี้ผ่านงานจัดแสดงศิลปะเนื่องในโครงการ Make A House A Home Projects ซึ่งเป็นโครงการศิลปะเพื่อสังคมที่มีจุดประสงค์ในการช่วยเหลือในด้านการสร้างความตระหนัก และรวบรวมสิ่งของบริจาคให้กับผู้คนยากไร้ผ่านงานศิลปะ โครงการดังกล่าวนี้ เปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ที่เข้าร่วมได้นำเอาสิ่งของที่ตนคิดว่าเป็นประโยชน์ต่อครอบครัวผู้ลี้ภัย มาแลกกับงานศิลปะที่จัดทำขึ้นเด็กๆ ผู้ลี้ภัย ในงาน ได้มีการจัดกิจกรรมเวิร์คช็อปโดยเหล่าผู้ลี้ภัยจากปากีสถาน อัฟกานิสถาน เวียดนาม และพม่า ผู้เข้าร่วมงานได้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้และทำความรู้จักกับเหล่าผู้ลี้ภัยนี้อย่างใกล้ชิด ผ่านอาหาร ศิลปะ และวัฒนธรรม
