"arTech - imagining our future," a project launched by EUNIC – European Union National Institutes for Culture, artistically explored connections between art and science, investigating the impact of new technologies on future generations. Art students from Europe and Silpakorn University Bangkok, representing various disciplines, collaborated in pairs for two weeks to co-create art pieces that either utilized new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Programming/Apps/Gaming, etc., or addressed the potential effects of these and other technologies on future generations and (global) socio-economic sustainable development.
Bangkok 1899 hosted talented art students from EUNIC and Silpakorn University International College for an inspiring workshop and an immersive journey through our vibrant Nang Leong neighborhood, guided by Nammon and Palm from the Community Lab.
The students' artistic work was inspired by the life and traditions of the Nang Loeng community in Bangkok, discovered through a walking tour and a workshop, both organized by members of the Nang Loeng community. The project, curated by Nammon "Nawarat Welployngam," the founder of COMMUNITY LAB {Nang Loeng}, provided a unique opportunity for students to engage in a meaningful exploration of the intersection between art, technology, and community heritage.
The project was organized by the EUNIC-Cluster Bangkok (Alliance Française, British Council, Goethe-Institut, as well as the Embassies of Austria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, and Spain) in collaboration with Silpakorn University International College and Bangkok 1899.
